At Red Oaks, we follow a practical natural horsemanship path when working with any horse under our care. We firmly believe that trust and effective communication are the keys to a successful training result…for both horse, trainer and owner. We are careful to take the time necessary to build a foundation that sets each horse up for success in the next phase of their training and development. We believe that the training approach for each horse should be as unique as they are and always takes the time to evaluate each horse and their needs before developing their training program.
Nikki has been training horses since she was 12 years old.
Her first client brought her a stubborn Haflinger that refused to do anything asked of it. Nikki worked with the horse and owner and a few weeks later the client took home a very happy and much more cooperative horse. Very quickly, Nikki began starting horses under saddle in addition to working with “problem horses” and rescues. Nikki also has extensive experience in training and developing young horses to be model citizens before they are even old enough to be saddled. Nikki prides herself in producing young horses that have been so well prepped that being started under saddle is just another day for them.
